Kayanna Scott-Brown
Kayanna Scott-Brown, our new GraceWorks Director, was born and raised in Boston, MA. As a child her mother kept her involved in dance. After dancing in a company for many years Kayanna decided to begin teaching creative movement, jazz, tap, African dance and hip-hop to children ages 3-12. It was then that she decided to pursue a career working with children and families. A graduate from Wheelock College in 2006 with a B.A. degree in Theater Arts and a certificate in Human Services, Kayanna is certified by the Department of Early Education and Care as an infant/toddler and preschool teacher, and as a Director II.
Kayanna has taught and directed programs in a local childcare center and public school. When not working she enjoys spending time with her two children and family, taking dance classes, going for walks and shopping.

Laurie Marr, Assistant Director
Ms. Marr has been with GraceWorks since October, 2006, and has 14 years in the fields of child-care and after-school programs. One of Laurie's main responsibilities is to supervise the after-school and summer teaching staff, and to oversee the safety of the children and the school environment. She works daily with the children in various activities and groups. Laurie has her Child Development Associates Degree (CDA) and has a Director I level qualification from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (DEEC).

Deborah Smith, Administrative Assistant
Ms. Smith has been an administrative assistant for over 20 years. She has worked at Harvard University, Fenway Community Health Center and MIT. Deborah has been with GraceWorks since November, 2005. She does the data entry for GraceWorks' families and employees, and handles the billing for the program. Deborah has a B.A. degree in French and an M.A. degree in Counseling Psychology, both received before realizing she loved working as an administrative assistant.
Deborah has lived in Medford since 1998 with Tina, her partner of 23 years and her daughters. In her spare time she enjoys studying Irish and French languages.
